New Tuta absoluta website, launched.

The Information network Tuta absoluta ( has been re launched today with new key features

The key new addition to the site is a new interactive Tuta Absoluta Distribution Map with facility for members of the net work to place a flag on locations in their country where they know that the pest has been reported. This will appear as an “unconfirmed” while the editors of the site will seek validation of the report before changing it to “confirmed” The new website which was launched over two years ago have received over 100,000 hits worldwide and provided timely and up to date information and sharing platform to help to stem the advance of this damaging pest. The simpler sleeker site is designed to load fast from locations with slow internet connection making it more accessible to agriculture extension workers. The network is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian & Arabic to encourage information exchange and update and is maintained by Russell IPM. Flintshire 16 August 2011
